About This Service

Overview

Psychotherapy (also known as talk therapy, counseling or psychosocial therapy) is a method of treatment that uses a variety of skills and diverse techniques based on theoretical knowledge to help individuals experiencing mental health struggles/conditions and emotional challenges. At Foundations to Success, LLC we aim to provide clarity for our clients' situations to reduce emotional distress and increase positive behaviors through reinforcement. Our goal is to help individuals focus on identifying what they want in life and what areas are most important to those individuals while using a person-centered and strength-based treatment plan.

Behavioral Therapy

Behavioral therapy focuses on identifying patterns of behavior that are getting in the way of a person's goals and replacing them with healthier, more effective responses. Clinicians work with clients to recognize triggers, build new coping skills, and reinforce positive change over time. This approach is helpful for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, behavioral challenges in youth, anger, and difficulty managing emotions in everyday situations.

Behavioral Therapy

Group Therapy

Group therapy brings together individuals working through similar experiences in a structured, clinician-led setting. Participants gain support, perspective, and accountability from peers while practicing communication and coping skills in real time. Groups are confidential, organized around clear topics or goals, and offered both online and in person to meet a variety of schedules and comfort levels.

Group Therapy

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy supports partners who want to improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, or strengthen their connection. Sessions create a safe space where both individuals can be heard and where new relational patterns can be practiced with the guidance of a licensed clinician. Whether a couple is in crisis or simply wants to grow together, therapy provides the tools to move forward intentionally.

Couples Therapy

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling integrates clinically sound therapy with the faith values that are important to the client. For individuals and families who want their spiritual life to be part of the healing process, clinicians draw on prayer, scripture, and Christian principles alongside evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Participation in Christian counseling is always by client choice and never required.

Art Therapy

Art therapy uses creative expression — drawing, painting, collage, and other art forms — as a therapeutic tool to help clients process emotions and experiences that can be difficult to put into words. It is especially effective for children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, grief, or anxiety. No artistic skill is required; the focus is on the process of expression, not the finished product.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that teaches practical skills in four core areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is particularly helpful for individuals who experience intense emotions, struggle with self-harming urges, or have difficulty maintaining stable relationships. Clients leave each session with concrete tools they can use in everyday life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify the thought patterns that drive their feelings and behaviors and learn how to challenge and reshape them. CBT is one of the most well-researched forms of therapy and is effective for depression, anxiety, trauma, sleep difficulties, and many other concerns. Sessions are structured, goal-oriented, and typically focused on producing measurable progress over a defined number of weeks.

Play Therapy

Play therapy gives children a developmentally appropriate way to express what they are feeling when they don't yet have the words. Through guided play, art, and storytelling, clinicians help children process difficult experiences, build emotional regulation skills, and strengthen their sense of safety. Parents and caregivers are involved throughout the process so progress made in session translates to home and school.

Play Therapy

Anger Management

Anger management therapy helps clients understand the source of their anger, recognize early warning signs, and respond with healthier strategies instead of reacting impulsively. Sessions focus on emotional awareness, communication, conflict resolution, and rebuilding relationships that may have been impacted by anger. Programs are available for adolescents and adults in both individual and group formats.

Trauma Focused Therapy

Trauma-focused therapy is designed for individuals who have experienced acute or ongoing trauma, including PTSD, abuse, loss, violence, or significant life disruption. Clinicians use evidence-based approaches at a pace the client can tolerate, helping them safely process traumatic experiences and reduce the symptoms that follow. The goal is not to relive the past but to reduce its grip on the present.

Emotion-Focused Therapy

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps clients understand the emotions underneath their reactions and use that awareness to make meaningful change. By learning to recognize, accept, and transform difficult emotions, clients build deeper self-understanding and healthier relationships with the people in their lives. EFT is used effectively with individuals, couples, and families.

Family Therapy

Family therapy works with the family system as a whole to improve communication, address recurring conflict, and strengthen relationships across generations. Clinicians help family members understand each other's perspectives, repair ruptures, and develop new patterns that support every person in the household. It is especially helpful during transitions such as divorce, blended-family dynamics, grief, or a child's behavioral health journey.
